Darjeeling, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and world-famous tea gardens, continues to be one of the most unique travel destinations.   • Visit Tiger Hill in the morning to witness a stunning sunrise and the Himalayan Mountains, which include Mount Everest and the Kanchendzonga.
  • Just before sunrise, the Himalayan range turns all golden, and one can see the horizon changing colors. The sight is incredibly majestic, and on the way back from Tiger Hill, one can see the 15-foot-tall image of Mythey Buddha at Ghoom Monastery, the oldest monastery in the region, which was constructed in 1875.
  • Following your climb of Mt. Everest, continue with a city tour in the afternoon that includes stops at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), the Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), the Tibetan Refugee Center (closed on Sunday), Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock, and Happy Valley Tea Estate (from outside).
